# Math - Subtracting Big Numbers in Spanish

In this Spanish Medium Review quiz you will be looking at subtracting big numbers in Spanish. You were first introduced to doing math in Spanish in the Spanish Easy Review quiz series. Then in Spanish Medium Review you have been learning how to count into the millions. However, knowing the Spanish word for billions also means that you can count in the billions. To get this far alone in Spanish is quite an amazing accomplishment on your part! Still, it is always good to stretch that accomplishment even further. Math does just that for you!

For example, the number 300 is not tres cien or even tres cientos but, rather, is trescientos. If you have not already taken that sister quiz, please do so now as it will greatly aid you in being able to take this quiz.

In the sister quiz you were adding numbers together. Here you will be subtracting numbers. That should be easy enough don’t you think? The first answer has improperly left the accent mark over the 'o' in millones. The second answer has misspelled the word for 600. The last answer is missing the word for thousand (mil). un millón trescientos cuarenta y un mil cien – setecientos doce mil novecientos once is (1,341,100 – 712,911 = 628,189). The first answer is the number 528,189. That is not correct. The second answer is the number 728,189. That too is not correct. The last answer is the number 828,189. Again, that is not correct. The third answer is the number 628,289. It is the correct spelling, correct form and correct number.

diez y nueve mil cuatrocientos sies – diez y ocho mil cutrocientos tres is (19,406 – 18,403 = 1,003). The first answer has improperly place an un before mil. This is not done in Spanish to represent 1,000. The third answer has improperly placed a 'y' between mil and tres. The last answer is the number 3,000 which is not correct.
